First time watch
Cruise is amazing in this - about as good as he ever was, I think. Utterly believable and beautiful for 2.5 hours straight. No easy feat.
I'm grateful to whoever selected this for the morning's film in the Gold's Gym Cinema Center. An unusual choice, but it made my workout fly by and now I'm jacked beyond compare.
Partner watch, plane and boat watch
Started this on a cruise two years ago, fell asleep twice, and convinced myself I wouldn't have much of a chance with it again. But I finally muscled through on my flight. Not that it was really worth all that trouble.
I almost always admire Zellweger and resent the lazy critical discourse around her seeming surface-level connections to Garland solely because she had a few quiet career years. I don't know her or anyone…

This one sneaks up on you like you'd never know. Pretty special. Late Akerman influence is heavy. The kid making the film could be amazing.
