Jim Cameron comes to me and says “hey I got a movie you can watch”

I ask him “is it wet or is it guns”

    he says “what”

I give him the chart showing him his movies that are wet and his movies that are guns

he shakes his head, hands it back to me and says “it’s a beautiful action adventure with cutting edge graphics and mind-blowing practical effects. it may even be my best movie of the 20th century.”

    I watch the movie

    it’s wet

The octane is on a slower and more gradual drip this time around, but the little guys and spectacular vehicles and wondrous lore is on full throttle throughout.

Taylor-Joy exceeds in making the role her own while still honoring Theron, and Hemsworth puts on a career best villain performance.

Miller’s just a goddamn madman, and I’ll devour whatever he has to serve.

“I’m not what I expected, either”

Truly marvelous all around. I’m locked in to forever be an absolute sucker for Corbet’s formal flourishes and Crawley’s techniques.

Brody and Pearce put in legacy affirming performances as well.

Also worth mentioning that I levitated out of my seat when Blumberg’s score heralded in that shot of the Statue Of Liberty.

Eager to watch this again, even though I will be lamenting not being able to see this on a massive screen again.
