Such a tight little thriller. I’m still just as fond of it this viewing. But I still think it should have wrapped after the final vote and before the big reveal. Seemed to try hard for its overall message of progression within an old institution. But then we wouldn’t have got the beautiful shot of Fiennes helping the turtle to water whilest looking upward to the white smoke he just enacted.

SpongeBob’s Thanos gets his moment. And it’s worth the wait and five films. It was a nice diversion by the team to take this angle after the four previous films.
All the origin stuff is excellent, especially the black and white flashback animation. But at the core is just one of the all-time great villains just wanting to be a part of world domination. Or college! Mr. Lawrence is unmatched.
Such delicious insanity. I sometimes feel like the world is a big old Candy Mountain luring us to paradise to only harvest our organs.
Man, what a colossal mess. Frankly, I feel manipulated. This is a catastrophe of tone malfunction. It wants to be an Amblin movie in a James Cameron dystopia. It wants to be 90s nostalgia porn. It wants to be smart sci-fi satire. It wants to be a robot/human rights allegory. And it fails on all of these. And despite its $300 million budget, it looks like green screen shit.
