Writer Robert Machoian tests the limits of Show Me Don’t Tell Me, fashioning the typically perfunctory reveal of details about the lead character’s situation as if the film is a mystery.

John Magaro’s interiority is time bomb. He’s a revelation and yet you could make an argument he’s the third best performance.

The kids are worth the price of admission. Molly Belle Wright will be an Oscar winning movie star if she wants to be, and Wyatt Solis has insane charisma for an actor his age.

Within the first seconds of EAST OF WALL, you relax—because it’s clear you’re in good hands.  In her stunning first feature—Kate Beecroft manages to juxtapose a modern story with many of the flourishes of a classic western.

Tik Tok videos of street actors as preternatural equestrians flying across a landscape shot that would make John Ford nod in approval. White hat protagonists & black hat antagonists—but set to hip hop. ‘Might have to sell the ranch to the rich guy’ trope—but…
