The Devil's Own 1997
Worth the watch just for Brad Pitt’s IRA kung-fu about an hour and five minutes in.
Otherwise, it’s a bit ridiculous. The repeated “it’s an Irish story” line is incredibly cringe-worthy as is the out of place, pseudo-Celtic triumphant James Horner score.
There are several plot-points early in the film which could’ve led to a great story but it just doesn’t happen. The revenge plot is just dropped, the father-son dynamic between Ford and Pitt goes nowhere end the “he never had a chance” sentiment feels totally redundant.
IRA kung-fu though.
