Honestly this movie was pretty great, layered, and the cinematography was very good. I do prefer The Pianist if we are rating Brody Holocaust film Oscar wins.

Nightmare Alley 2021
This is Guillermo’s best picture to date. Unlike a lot of younger directors he knows that a good noir film is a slowly burning candle. There aren’t a lot of ups and downs until the sensational ending, and that’s a good thing. The theme of loving the ugly or different that we see in so much of Del Toro’s work is evident here and the character of Stanton Carlisle is a trumph by Bradley Cooper. Loved this movie.
