The only thing that reassured me about the idea of another Macbeth adaptation was a Coen being attached. I was correct to feel reassured.
The Tragedy of Macbeth felt very much like a movie out of the 50s to me. The beautifully aesthetic cinematography worked wonderfully. Each shot was composed with exquisite precision that results in something indicative of past cinematic art, but also a specific and consistent mood.
