A cinematic mammoth in filmmaking history, David Lean’s Lawrence of Arabia is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. Vast in scope and epic. With stunning visuals, an empowering score, and phenomenal performances across the board, you’d never guess it was released in the early '60s, given how well it still holds up to this day.

3 Women 1977
Robert Altman’s rendition of Persona. This film may warrant a rewatch in the future because it feels like his vision flew right past me. I often appreciate films that delve into dream logic and the human psyche. However, 3 Women feels a little too lackluster and mundane in its presentation. The third act shows that Altman had a clear intention, especially with the nightmarish sequences and haunting ocean overlays. However, I feel it ultimately falls short of being all it could have been.

Chungking Express 1994
WOW. this is one of the most visually mesmerizing movies i have ever seen; absolutely hypnotizing. kar-wai does an incredible job of painting this world in a way that reflects the characters; melancholic, lonely, yet hopeful, dazzling and dreamy. it’s beautifully written, has outstanding acting and an overall beautiful film!
