  I fucking love the indomitable human spirit!! A well timed watch, space is so fucking cool. Kevin Bacon is forgettable and Tom Hanks does a convincing enough job as a pilot, it’s mostly the actual story of the Apollo 13 that’s so compelling. A little ironic that they made a popular movie about an event that was nearly tragic and in the movie they talk about how the event didn’t get any attention until it was nearly tragic (i.e. good television). Also the score?? Impeccable, felt like its own character. 

  Failure is not an option.

  The Shining but if Jack Torrance actually locked the fuck in and wrote his book.

  Maybe it's a Wes Anderson thing but the way this movie is shot and this story within a story within a story is told is actually what my head looks like when I'm reading a book. A similar sense of magic that I feel with La La Land's opening sequence pervades the entire movie, or at least the parts that are Zero retelling his life.
