Gut wrenching watch. It’s so crazy to see how ruthless and evil teenagers can be. And the way this movie is edited makes it seem like a reel of memories rather than stuff happening chronologically, which I think works extremely well. From friendships to betrayal to isolation and a whole bunch of depressing and immoral things, it rlly just feels like i’m watching a documentary on how tumultuous teenage years can be. And it somehow all still effortlessly ties back…

no other director makes me feel things the same way shinya tsukamoto does. this film is constantly fidgeting and squirming and writhing without a moments rest and it really makes perpetually understimulated ppl like me so satisfied. styling aside, i love the narrative of this story. ppl trying to find meaning in their lives, to gain some sort of power or complete control over something back for themselves, but this pursuit leads to a downward spiral which affects the lives…
