As a Wes Craven fan, I was way overdue finally watching this. Had heard generally positive things, though it's not nearly held to the high esteem of Craven's biggest hits (Nightmare, Scream), so I went in with tepid-but-optimistic expectations, particularly as Craven's quality can be a mixed bag (particularly his low-budget fair).

Sadly, People falls more in the latter category, feeling like a low-budget made-for-TV R-rated kids movie, though not without some charms and fun ideas. I love the idea…

Second time watching and had been curious to revisit, yet also reluctant (previously gave 5/10 on IMDb on Nov 30, 2013).

To its credit, it's not as bad as I was expecting, but it's certainly not good.

This is a more tired late-stage John Carpenter that struggles to find its footing, going through the motions in a disconnected way that feels very mid-late 1990s mediocre horror (complete with editing and SFX).

Christopher Reeve is enjoyable, and acting isn't particularly bad…

I honestly can't tell if this is an amazing troll job by Hayao Miyazaki or simply Studio Ghibli's worst 2D movie (even more boring and disappointing than Tales from Earthsea, which at least has an excellent score and started off alright).

Two more sarcastic comments before getting serious:

    1) For as many birds as this movie has, I've got two more to give (flip) it

    2) This movie is full of shit

And now to be more serious...

    This movie…

A comic book event movie that celebrates past Fox Marvel movies (even unrealized ones) and probably the "best" Deadpool movie, even though it falls short of Deadpool 1's charm and Spider-man: No Way Home's wrap-up celebration (let alone Endgame's bloated self).

Negative points for once again sidelining Morena Baccarin's Vanessa, who is the best thing Deadpool had going for it.

Also, minus points for an excessive amount of swearing and crassness. Be more economical and meaningful with that stuff. This…
