I love Ice Age meltdown and I’m tired of pretending like I don’t. In my opinion, my humble, nostalgia clouded, rose tinted opinion, this is the best installment in the Ice Age franchise, possibly second best, I’d accept that, the one with the Dinosaurs is the only one that can compete (must be said- despite all its redeeming qualities, an incredibly basic film).

    Pros:

This is a really cute film- the characters are great and the dialogue is very clever, fast paced and witty (my favorite aspect of these old hollywood romances). However, the actual plot of this film just seems a bit unrealistic.

Trippy, dark, cerebral and psychological. I really liked this movie, it’s performances, it’s writing. It goes in a lot of different, sometimes random directions, changing on a dime just like the human mind and the medley of thoughts or scenarios or fantasies that run through it, occasionally contradicting and fusing with one another.
