Christ is king.
While neither artistic nor autistic, I’m shooting for one. I’ll let you decide.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Yeah it's still very good. Lots of telling conversations here about how we as humans view ourselves in light of one another, specifically those we find ourselves starting to fall in love with.
I guess it feels very critical of how we can put romance on a pedestal. What I mean is that we think about the feeling and go, "Oh I like that" instead of the actual work it takes to get to that point. It's like seeing Victorian…
Watching this I don’t think there’s such thing as extreme nihilism. Nihilism is inherently extreme.
If anything this film provokes in me a mix of anger and empathy, a realization of the dangers of going full nihilist or full hedonist or full existential. What it does to your soul and how it leads to harm. Even thinking these philosophies on an individual level spreads out to those around us, whether we like it or not. Is that important when the…
“Miniver cursed the commonplace
And eyed a khaki suit with loathing;
He missed the mediæval grace
Of iron clothing” -Edwin Arlington Robinson, “Miniver Cheevy”.
I think this modernist poem speaks to the disillusionment present in this movie. Bresson seems to let things take their course patiently and it’s pretty rewarding.

It is sparse in its detail and…
“I lost my virginity in that barn.”
If you're losing the will to live...this movie might send you over the edge.
More of a guarantee than a toaster in a bathtub or Colonel Mustard with a revolver in the conservatory.
“Your family’s not in the way, they are the way” 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Fast and Furious found dead in a ditch. Vin Diesel, rolling around his bald head glinting in the sun, mouth desperate for water. Joel Smallbone has his foot over a canteen and boots it 50 miles leaving Vin to cope. Yeahhhhh.
Dare I say this is a heater for Christian media 🔥🔥🔥
Haters finna hate but the preachiness that dem critics be yapping about is pretty minimal here. Even…
The cross is truly one of the most devastating and yet beautiful things.
God loves all of us more than we know even as we spit on him, whip him, and abuse Him.
As Jesus took on flesh, so his flesh is ripped out, but it’s for our good somehow. It’s a moment that shows human sinfulness and contrasts it so well for Christ’s love.
“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:9).
I think this one’s…
