First impressions:
+ charming story
+ Mexican neighbor woman acting is solid- Apart from being a golden goose for the studio, Hanks is underwhelming. He's too mild-mannered to contrast his later turnaround. Plenty of grumpy old men in Hollywood who could have been more convincing.
- Although portrayed as a perfectionist engineer and handyman, he hangs a heavy hook from a plaster ceiling and doesn't bother to drill into a joist that can support it (??).

I FIGURED OUT THIS MOVIE!
At first, it didn't make sense. Incomprehensible plot holes, absence of dialogue, emotionless stupor, suspension of physics, lack of context, and zero character development. Is this an 'emperor has no clothes' scenario where the director is pranking the audience to see if he can sell a bad movie as an interpretive dance of far-reaching metaphors for life?
Maybe, but there is one plausible explanation. The entire movie is a dream sequence!
