The Monkey 2025
This is one of the best horror comedies I’ve seen in a long time. Never laugh out loud but persistently funny and over the top from front to back. I’d love to see another installment of this concept.
If I could go back in time there’s no way I watch this for the first time without psychedelics.

Gladiator II 2024
If ever there was a movie that didn’t need a sequel it’s Gladiator (2000). But the Kaiju that is Hollywood production companies demands to be fed and if it must eat you might as well feed it steak instead of rotten tomatoes.
Gladiator II: Electric Bugaloo is Ridley Scott at his Ridliest with an epic display of gratuitous knife violence set to the same ethereal gibberish of a score that gave the original its larger than life appeal.

The Departed 2006
Easily one of the best films I’ve ever seen. From the performances to the editing to the shot composition. 151 minutes and not a second of wasted time. It’s a travesty that Scorsese only has one Oscar but if he only gets one I would pick The Departed in a second.
