The first time I watched a movie and was so invested that I didn’t want it to end.

It’s an absolute trip from beginning to end and I couldn’t be more happy that I got to see it in IMAX.

Someone on Threads (Yes, I’m on there) put it very simply:

Not bad enough to warrant a 15% on Rotten Tomatoes but not good enough to warrant its $320 million budget.

The CGI is solid, most of the time and Giancarlo Esposito and Anthony Mackie are the highlights of the entire film.

Also, shoutout to Alan Silvestri for reminding me that he will shove the theme song down your throat in 10 different variations

One thing about this movie that kind of infuriates me is that it’s soooooooo long. As a result of that, not much happens other than us watching a kid grow up in front of our eyes which was a novelty in filmmaking… and only that. We have seen kids grow up in sitcoms and soapies so that wasn’t new. It was new a concept in this film which unfortunately is its biggest downfall… that and the realism aspect.

    One thing…

HOOPTOBER - 3/31: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari

German Expressionism at a point when the film bros of the era claimed that it was too commercialised only for it to be one of the most influential films in history, giving way to the stylings of American Film Noir and allegedly influencing one Tim Burton… ALLEGEDLY!!!

That being said, this was a fun watch, the set designs, the acting, the overall tone of the film and its somewhat bleak ending make…
