This documentary sheds light on the harrowing reality faced by women in Japan, where rape is not legally recognized as a crime unless specific, often arbitrary, criteria are met. The subject matter is both horrific and heartbreaking, exposing deep flaws in the justice system. However, despite the gravity of the issue, the documentary falters in its execution. The direction and editing fail to do justice to the powerful and painful stories being told, ultimately weakening the film’s emotional and narrative impact. While the message remains critical, the storytelling lacks the depth and structure needed to truly resonate.
