delusionally, i had higher hopes for this film. instead spent 3 and a half hours of my life i can never get back to watch Martin Scorsese pat himself on the back for making a billion dollars off genocide. Only redeeming moments were Lily Gladstone’s performance and the costume design.
The genocide of the Osage people was portrayed only with graphic images and gore and no sympathy and care. These qualities were only reserved for the perpetrators of these crimes.…
I really wanted to like to like this movie.
I think the stars of the show were the supporting characters (loved Hazel). i wish they leaned into them more and the silly parts of the movie. but when they tried to talk about anything political it felt like they were just saying facts (sexist experiences, for example) and because of who is saying it it's supposed to be funny? there was no depth, just repetition, which makes it feel awkward…
so much worse than the first one! they became too self aware of how smart and aware they want to sound. hope the 3rd installment is better.
