Ok yeah the plot is dumb, but it's also stupid.
Yes the spousal abuse is not important and tonally doesn't match the rest of the movie but it is also why the rest of the movie happens.
Of course you can say the fight scene in the jail cell is racist and homophobic but you can also say that the fight scene in the police station shows that killing cops looks cool.

Found footage film: fuck yeah. Also it makes sense in the story why they're filming what they're filming so bonus points for that.
It's funny and I was totally immersed in the film. They took time to build the world and develop likeable characters.
