There’s gonna be that film that you’ve always wanted to see in a movie theater and for me, it’s the rare ones like Bong Joon-ho’s works.

It’s quite an immersive experience watching this on the big screen with a group of people that somehow appreciate cinema, which resonates more once you’ve seen his filmography.

It’s comic and at the same time, heart-wrenching; a punch in the gut, followed by a touch of healing…a wild ride indeed. It may not be the most precious stone out there, yet a real gem at its core.

I guess the pain became my friend. I coped with it for too long. So leaving it behind felt like I was parting ways with myself from the past.

It started to sound like a healing drama but didn't dig deep into the gritty parts. Still, there are tender moments and small wins in every episode. In the midst of struggle, I'm rooting for Nam Soo-hyun. There's a balance of comfort and palpable tension in his friendship with Yeo Jun... it's probably the saving grace of the entire story.

I'm here appreciating the craft, secondhand books, old records and varieties of umbrella. A touch of melancholy and longing in a film feels like characters existing in a Wong Kar-wai universe but Cho Jin-mo made it his own through classic korean sentimental tone.

P.S. I'm also waiting for the rain because I like the sound of pitter-patter while sleeping.
