It’s such a shame that the color grading and backlighting make this entire movie so painful to look at, because Cynthia and Ariana both give truly amazing performances worthy of their Oscar buzz. It’s a movie about a witch with flying monkeys, it’s allowed to and should feel fantastical but just doesn’t with the color.
Also the lead two being so good kinda works against it when Yeoh/Goldblum/Bailey are all not good singers.
