bawling in my room at 3:17am on a thursday. this is up there with cinema paradiso for movies to watch when you want to be repeatedly slapped in the face with the reminder your childhood is over and has been for a long time. Anatomy of a Fall 2023
I live for movies about miserable people and their miserable lives. Perfectly executed the quiet, unremarkable nothing ending while still being the most artful and satisfying possible way to end it. Second only to 12 Angry Men in courtroom dramas, while being a different kind of tense the entire time. The whole movie just leaves you with this amazing sad, empty feeling. Impeccable.
