I was worried going in that this was going to be Neon's First Cow, but I'm relieved to say that it is instead Neon's Pig, starring Nicolas Cage!

    Surprisingly reminiscent of Gotti.

It's dry, but boy does it tie together. Reminded me of an episode of Columbo where he gathers all the suspects together at the end and explains the whole mystery. It won't stick like Soderbergh's catchiest movies (Oceans, Logan Lucky, Out of Sight) but it's a welcome 90 minutes of spy twists and turns on the big screen. It's quiet and sexy and possibly the most ill-advised movie to double feature with The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, but I'm so glad we did!

Long live my friends Daffy, Porky, and Petunia 😭 I went in just wanting to see a 2D animated movie on the big screen, and I came out with healthy reminder of why the Tunes are icons to this day! This does a wonderful job of re-capturing the slapstick, laugh-a-minute tone of the shorts while just stopping short of overstaying its welcome. It's funny, it's sweet and wholesome, and it's just plain silly!

What is this even about? What is my life even about.

  • Rampage

    Rampage

    ★★★½

Would've been an easy 10/10 if The Rock got hit by the Rampage gas and became huge for the third act - but wishful thinking aside, this was super fun and well put together! The friendship between Davis and George strings the movie together nicely, and Jeffery Dean Morgan is clearly having the time of his life.

    Rampage
is not slavishly devoted to its source material (which is obviously far too thin to support a feature film), and I think, for this reason, it's the best video game movie I can recall. The bar is inching upwards!
