    A film about rival yakuza families who enact acts of escalating cruelty to each other until it hits boiling point. Takeshi Kitano and Kippei Shiina deliver great performances that are legitimately scary at times. What I find the most interesting about it is how it differs from other yakuza movies I’ve seen. The whole film is lit coldly, the family offices are sterile and barely furnished, most of the characters dress conservatively. There aren’t characters that differ from the rank…

    Hilarious and holds up really well (excluding the really transphobic part). I deeply respect Jim Carrey’s ability to play such a wide variety of really annoying characters. This is incredibly embarrassing to admit, but this film had an incredibly profound influence on my personality growing up (excluding the really transphobic part).

    This movie could reasonably be considered as elder abuse. It’s better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, not because it’s good, it’s just less-bad. 1,000,000 year-old Harrison Ford returns as Indiana Jones and is accompanied by his previously-unmentioned goddaughter and an incredibly hairy kid.
