  sort of a mess that plays with well-worn tropes (the ensemble whodunnit, the mystery author whose death becomes the mystery itself, the inheritance-spun morality tale) but never finds the fun. a waste of some fine performances. leave it to shane black next time, rian.

  was honestly distracted by the fact that this was just the movie version of that mint royale clip noel fielding was in too much to care about the pacing issues in the third act etc. ansel elgort is just the baby version of the Drive guy in this and basically charmless although a functional cipher. let noel fielding do it next time.

  bobby's got some slick suits in this one. probably the best suits of his career. pastels. damn. he's no travis bickle in this, that's for sure. shame about the plot and everything else.

  probably the most relaxing film i've seen this year. a moving tale about a man's love of basketball and family.
