Hedwig and the Angry Inch 2001
So. This movie is on a similar plane as Rocky Horror to me. I get why so many people love this film, but I think if I had watched this when I was younger and yearning for representation, I would have been incredibly hurt by what I saw. I resonated with some of the songs and themes, but ultimately I am grateful that there are other depictions of trans people I can look to. I love the glam, I love the gender fuckery. So those are the good parts I will carry forward with me.
