like if a coming-of-age movie was horror, but with a barely socially aware, whimsical diva as the main character!

I hate when they make a decent movie with fucked up morals behind it <\3
The performances were good, some scenes were beautiful, the comedy hit well, but when you exploit and embellish a real story using crazy offensive racial stereotypes and self-soothing, feel-good liberal plot points … that’s just not it.
There was no need to make Driss black (as he wasn’t in real life), much less a predatory, brazen, slobbish, lazy, leech of a black caricature. Crazy!

Anatomy of a Fall 2023
The performances in this movie blew me away. Amazing writing, both in dialogue and overarching plot. Captivating the whole way through, and so immersive. The use of editing and cinematography to further the themes of subjectivity and perspective are brilliant. So subtle, with so many important details just barely peeking out at you. I’d love a rewatch!

YOWZA! Kubrick had a crazy budget and a DREAM.
The first two acts are quite slow but still good. The third act is one of the most visually captivating I’ve ever seen. LOVE!

Taxi Driver 1976
Eh, it was alright. Visually it was beautiful and the acting was good, but honestly, I'm just confused about what Scorsese was trying to say. It's just a weird, traumatized guy who is mentally ill and then develops a savior complex. I didn't hate it but I didn't particularly enjoy it.
