  But I’m sure there’s bigger and better things to look forward to from Reijn in the future. You’ve got to respect the guts it takes for an artist to swing for the fences so early on.

  Lynch's “Eyes Wide Shut”

  Sadly, will go down in history as his last full-length feature film. But what a way to go out. Shades of Kubrick, Bergman and the Dogme hand-held aesthetic of early Von Trier. But still in unmistakable Lynchian fashion. Possibly Laura Dern’s finest hour as well. This is another film, much like EWS, that I will undoubtedly go back to once a year for the foreseeable future, to peel back more and more of the brilliant layers found within.
