  It plays the hits.

  I wish this movie had made the obvious connections to the previous movie. The studio reportedly wanted it too and it seems like after watching the movie that they had at least one point planned on it.

  This is a video game adaptation. Just saying that up front so expectations start low. The Rock once again plays the brutish muscleman with a complicated past, a kind heart, and sarcastic sense of humor.. just like he plays in almost every other movie.   If you have not see this movie, skip the theatrical version and watch "The Rogue Cut"

  The Rogue Cut was released to Bluray and streaming in 2015. In the original version, much was cut from the "future" timeline, including almost every scene involving the character Rogue. This version adds scenes back, including Rogue, thus the name.
