I really enjoyed Whannell’s The Invisible Man and mostly feel the same after watching Wolf Man.
His modern takes on the Universal Monsters, complemented by underlying themes work for me. Although this one was a little on the nose in some moments.
Abbot’s performance was strong and underrated. Garner’s performance was more subtle than expected but still nuanced and well done.
The design was grounded and the cinematography great. Loved the decision to spend a large part of the film exploring the different phases of the transformation. Felt like a very intimate way to retell this story.
