we went to see this at the charles theatre as part of the revival series. they advertised this to us as being the original, ORIGINAL version. then it was the CGI-laden remaster and we legitimately walked out because we’re pretentious assholes
it did remind me that, when i was little, i had the Dark Horse graphic novelization of Star Wars and the 1977 audiocut on vinyl. i’d sit at our phonograph and page through the comic, imagining the film coming to life before my little eyes. someone should have put george lucas down like old yeller
