  ??? I was looking forward to this film for MONTHS. I loved this ape series and I looooved Caesar's character so much. Was hoping to see something related to the Caesar storyline (maybe his son / descendants) but nope this was totally unrelated. This film felt like a slow buildup, which was okay initially because I thought the climax would be worth it, but alas it was a slow buildup towards nothing. The girl had no backstory, and it felt like most of the characters just sprung out of nowhere. Quite a big letdown considering how well made the previous ape films were.
