The Brutalist 2024
I think the opening sequence is one of the most well directed, compelling sequences I’ve ever seen to kick off a film. Beautiful. Love the score.
I feel like I’ve watched something very private and painful that I wasn’t meant to see. I like the choice Brady made to frame the story from the perspective of Zsofia (at least it seems like that’s the intent). Brody is incredible. (see they don’t want us here scene)
I’ll have to chew on this for a while to pull everything out but it really is a triumph of film making. This was made with under $10 million. Cinema isn’t dead.
