A band director as ruthless as a departed soul was able to conjure the finest out of a younger mans ability. This movie reminds me somewhat of my high school band director, yet in the sense of imitation and flattery. This movie was bittersweet to see the forward progress that occurs with elbow grease & hard work.

I’ve always been a fan of music, but competition is cut throat in these situations. Music is about having fun- not being the highest seat in your band. Ray jones, you aren’t shit as a high school band director.

  • The Bourne Identity

    The Bourne Identity

    ★★★★

Bourne’s identity acts as the pivotal force in this action thriller. Somewhat similar to the latter character progression of Arya Stark; Jason was truly no one.

I look forward to further development of this plot tomorrow night.

    The Prestige

The pledge, the turn, the prestige. A rudimentary understanding of the magicians act that isn’t fully understood until laid out right in front of the watcher’s eyes.

Christopher Nolan brilliantly mirrored this process in his cinema about two aspiring magicians. Similar to the magicians act, this rivalry had its pledge, turn, and prestige that wasn’t fully understood until the end of the film where it was laid out in front of my eyes. (Duh)

  • The Green Mile

    The Green Mile

    ★★★★★

A movie that had a mysterious opening, and not being fully explained until the end. A movie that had a small cast of characters, but never felt once like it. A movie rooted in the consequences of the wrong choices we make, yet highlights the good that arises in the darkest of times.

Have to say that this movie is one of my favorites. The plot was unpredictable, and the endings left me fulfilled.
