i wish my review could do this movie justice but i think i need to watch it a couple more times to do so. my heart broke so many times, stapled itself together to get through the next scene, then broke itself again. this genre of movie will always get me. the character dynamics hit and are so well thought out.
the rock scenes… who knew rocks could make you cry! they definitely did, and i loved it
i have lost hope. i cannot BELIEVE this movie was given such high praise. this movie was so nothing i can’t even begin to describe. some parts were interesting. of course, they weren’t followed up on, though. overexplained the parts i found the least interesting, honestly.
maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if it wasn’t so incredibly hyped up. i’m just convinced everyone else saw a different movie than i did.
the ending was absolutely gutting. make no mistake, it was not because i wanted Elio and Oliver to get together, because 1) i knew that didn’t happen and 2) i didn’t want it to happen. but being with Elio so intimately was very touching. it’s hard not to feel heartbreak for him, even though logically you know this young boy shouldn’t be with the adult man. but the ending was absolutely perfect. (more on that later.)

rich people evil. family tensions. enjoyable main character who more than proves herself throughout the film. Ultimate Final Girl. fun kills. good watch, i had fun with it
