The Color Purple 2023
The only knowledge I had previously of this movie is the song “I’m Here”. I had no idea what it was about, but I’ve always wanted to watch it, and finally got around to it. There are so many layers to the plot, and it’s just such a beautiful representation of this story that now I want to read too. And yay for Fantasia reprising her role!

This was very heartwarming and comforting and made me want to take a road trip with my best friends. It also gave me a greater appreciation for Will Ferrell, as we usually just see his goofy side but he was very genuine and sweet.

Wicked 2024
I watched this movie for the fourth time and yet still found new things that stood out to me. I love the attention to detail and Easter eggs that represent the Wizard of Oz and the book Wicked. All four times I’ve seen this movie, I cried during the same two parts and don’t think that’ll ever change, cause it’s just so powerful and also just makes the theatre kid in me so happy.
