I had super high hopes for this but damn, not worth the discomfort of watching the movie. It wades through the heavy subject matter of sex trafficking and sexual assault but doesn’t make a statement on any of it, or even make a compelling narrative out of the exploration. Additionally, most of the characters are extremely passive and act in ways that either seem shockingly understated for the circumstances, or do things that are so wildly out of character that you wonder if you missed a scene. Like damn man, I hear the tweets were better.
