Really suffers for its lack of budget and less than stellar acting, but the bones are so good it’s hard for me to begrudge this. Even as I was wincing at some dialogue, I was having a lot of fun with the concept and scouring the background for changes. A wonderful use of film to tell a story that wouldn’t have been possible in other media — Godard’s “every cut is a lie” makes the entire concept work.

I watched a movie about fascists invading Canada because I know how to have fun…
This is much too long (we don’t need to have a different setting for every remaining Nazi to get bumped off; we needed a slasher type knocking out a few at a time to speed things up). But the scenery is beautiful, it’s unusually accurate for a foreign film about Canada, and Nazis get punched.
We even get indigenous representation, more than in most Canadian…

I am never beating the pretentious allegations by loving this movie this much, but what can I say. The heart wants what it wants.

This movie was made for me. It was made specifically and only for me. I can’t stop smiling. All that and a Frank Capra ending.
Thank god I didn’t see this as a teenager because I would have made Amy Archer my entire personality.
Really can’t gather my thoughts more than how happy it made me.
Finally, Bruce Campbell is so beautiful it made my jaw drop.
