When this came out it certainly felt like Bruce Willis was being typecast as John Mclane, but there are some good additions to the formula. Damon Waynes character is a great foil for Bruce, and the relationship with his daughter adds some interesting story beats, they also do a good job fleshing out her character. The pace of the movie also has some time to breathe, but doesn’t feel like it drags. Good movie worth a watch.
Pretty good mobster flick. The stories alright, and it runs a bit longer that it needs to, but there’s some good action and classic Bruce Willis badassery.
For a low-budget movie they certainly did a lot. Feels like a cross between Prey (Predator) and Evil Dead. Most of the characters aren’t very likeable, I feel like that may have been the point, but even the “good” character is kind of hard to care about. Worth a watch, but temper your expectations.
Oh man, the original wasn’t great, but this movie makes it look like a masterpiece. Every scene with Edward Furlong feels like watching a car crash in slow motion. The best thing about this movie was probably the line the protagonist says after escaping, but that also might just be because it’s the end of the movie.
