was waiting for the climax labor pain to kick in from the first scene and it was a long wait.
When a much married Arun visits a travel agency to book tickets for him and his mistress, the travel agent turns out to be a long lost friend, Bhagyalakshmi, (ஹே, பாகி!). In the next two minutes they recollect what they were, where they were, confess/probe the mistress story, acknowledge that he has changed very little and book tickets - but not before passing a remark that openly suggests a playful adolescent incident in the past - (ஒனக்கு ஞாபகமிருக்கா.. மொட்ட மாடி..…
It is a bit unsettling to watch this film - it's the reality that you are reluctant to face about Kamal's movies and it's also the kind of Kamal film that you are eager to watch. I was stunned at some point in the film, from a funny scene to a most emotional moment, that clear manifestation of துக்கம் சில நேரம் பொங்கி வரும் போதும் மக்கள் மனம் போலே.. which side are you - the artist or the audience? Whichever side it is, Kamal has always been an artist to take you a bit closer to.
