The film Charandas Chor (1975) was showcased at the NFDC-National Film Archive of India (as a part of the Film Circle screenings), honoring the late director Shyam Benegal. The movie is an adaptation of Habib Tanvir’s seminal play of the same name, which in turn is based on a Rajasthani folktale by Vijaydan Detha.
