Don’t hate me but I think this was very stylistic, dark and definitely felt like a cult classic but with a 15 minutes resolution, I felt like I was left with questions unanswered and not enough satisfaction. Who was the main antagonist? Who was his lover? How did they know what they did? I’d have loved to know more to understand better but alas I’m near 30 years too late
This movie was particularly plain in its world building and read like many films in this sci-fi query drama genre that’s taken root these days. The feminist icon that we are to read into the main protagonist was sadly diluted by this movies callous approach to the future of AI and its approach to demystifying the lore used in plot building.
