Some thoughts!
To preface, I am aware my comments are largely in relation to this movie’s interaction with Dracula. In my defence, Nosferatu films are often recognised as a loose adaptation of Stoker’s gothic.
Thematically, compared to Dracula, there’s an an obviously explicit focus on sexuality, and this is in a manner reconfigured for the adapted story, for instance, without the characterisation of Mina/Lucy in the original novel. Perfect Days 2023
The term 木漏れ日 (komoberi) is beautiful, and quite aptly captures the central focus of the film in one word. I loved the message of the film. The final shot was well done and and ties it together quite clearly.
