There's a lot in this movie that didn't need to be in this movie.
Oliver Platt or Sandra Bullock, one or the other we didn't need both characters, we Absolutely didn't need a love triangle.
We already had racist southerners but the KKK group scenes did little for the story etc, and just added more characters in a movie with that had way more characters than it needed.
The lawyer mentor, the NAACP dude that was in two scenes, pick…

It's telling that every female character is either a love interest, promiscuous older woman, or accessory to a male in this movie.
It asks why the writers even included females if they couldn't write a three dimensional one.
The premise is a fun idea, and the early moments show what could be, but it just becomes stale and uninteresting from there.
