I'm glad we're honoring black women and how often they're ignored by society and history, but don't get it twisted, this movie is sadly also a large tribute to the white people who, according to the story, weren't that racist. The movie definitely could have been a bit more faithful to reality.
That being said, Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monáe and Octavia Spencer deliver solid performances, creating distinct characters with the right nuance for the different scenes.
Maybe now that I've rewatched the movie, Youtube will stop showing me badly formatted clips in the wrong order with background music that's far too loud.
