Blue Valentine 2010
This movie is fantastic. From my experience, most relationship movies have a somewhat subjectively better person in the timeline sequence where they end up leaving each other, but they’re both right for living the way they’ve lived. Genuinely painful to be forced to watch the degradation of a relationship that seemed to be forged and reinforced through problematic trial only to end in a way both characters never wanted to relive from their experience of watching their parents. And Christ Michelle Williams in both this and Manchester By The Sea plays such a good emotionally destroyed character it hurts
