There's some really nice dialogue and I liked a lot of the individual shots but it was an hour too long and meandered quite a lot. Just seen better 'eat the rich' films.

Writing Hawa 2024
What really got to me is that the more mundane scenes like the family eating, Hawa trying to find proper fabric, or going to the dentist. Even the interior of the house. It took me right back to my family's home in Kabul. To my aunt. To my cousin. Yes, life in Afghanistan is utter shit but that doesn't mean people aren't just living their lives. By showing the mundane in between the more awful things, Najiba Noori showed a more complete picture of women's lives than most other portrayals have done so far.

Maybe a career best for Robert Pattinson. What an actor. What a film. Him and Naomi Ackie carry this movie on their backs like its nothing, and its really fucking funny too!
There's a lot I could say about this, but all that matters in the end is that it does exactly what it sets out to do: explore a really wacky concept all while pulling at your heartstrings and making you laugh at the same time.
