Watched at metrograph in nyc. Such a fun experience 🩷🩷🩷
so beautiful and captivating and i loved how life (i don’t want to say lifelike because that’s not the right word so i’m using life as an adjective lol) this film was. i loved its slowness—i think “slow” can often be misconstrued as boring, and that’s just not true. i grew comfortable and invested in the story and the characters pretty early on, and i love films like these—so warm and inviting that it doesn’t take much effort to embrace them. the relationships and dynamics, especially between noriko and her dad, still feel familiar after 70+ years. so good!! (and i cried obviously)
