Ryuichi Sakamoto: Coda 2017
i watched this over the course of a week because — not that there (thankfully) is any shortage of footage of ryuichi sakamoto talking, thinking, listening, composing — i wanted to make it last. the quiet is so profound with sakamoto. the joy and curiosity music — ambient and erosive — brings him loosens up my lungs. how wonderful that people like him existed and exist in this world. when i next listen to the rain, i will think of him.
