Alien: Romulus 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The first 45 minutes is the best thing I've seen this year. The production design is excellent, the soundtrack is surprisingly great, and David Jonsson gives a memorable performance as Andy. You can stop watching once deepfake Ian Holm shows up. After that, Alien: Romulus seems to lose confidence in itself and the script takes a dive off of a cliff in terms of quality. It also becomes filled with forced/pandering fan service that feels like the result of corporate meddling.

The Sixth Sense 1999
Unfortunately this film is so engrained in pop culture that 99% of people know how it ends, even if they haven't seen it. Besides that, there are some great performances here and great pacing which made the 107 minute runtime go by very fast.

Tetsuo: The Iron Man 1989
I can see what the film is going for, but I found it way too goofy and over-the-top to take seriously. It's like Cronenberg's "The Fly" but amateur and Japanese. A lot of the imagery and effects are very cool. Reminded me of Nine Inch Nails music videos. Maybe I will enjoy it a lot more on a rewatch.
